As the national standards
body, we actively promote and encourage enterprises to adopt Singapore
Standards and relevant international standards in manufacturing
products and services. Where feasible, we align Singapore Standards with
international standards to facilitate greater market access for Singapore's
manufactured goods and exports. We also assist industry to take part in
the development of new international standards to ensure that they do
not hinder trade or limit market access for Singapore enterprises. Singapore
is currently involved in 34 ISO committees and five IEC committees with
leadership in six international committees.
