The main tasks of
LVS are:
" develop the national standards fund by organizing elaboration of
the national standards of Latvia and adaptation of international and regional
standards;
" ensure dissemination of information on standardisation, issuing
and publishing the national standards of Latvia and other related information;
" participate in the work of international and regional standardization
bodies.
LVS was founded in 1999 and it is a successor of rights and liabilities
in the field of standardisation of the state institution Latvian National
Centre of Standardisation and Metrology.
LVS takes part in the work of International Organization for Standardization
, International Electrotechnical Commission , European Committee for Standardization
and European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization
