Services of MSZT
- Standardization
- Information service on general issues of standardization, and the process,
methodology and liaisons of Hungarian, European and international standardization
- Implementation of European and international standards as national standards,
and development, reconciliation and publication of Hungarian national
standards
- Advising on standardization issues at enterprise level
- Information service on the Technical Committees and standardization
programmes for Hungarian, European and international standardization
- Information on national and European laws related to standardization
- Advising on specific issues concerning the application and interpretation
of standards
- Dissemination by request of documents and information on Hungarian,
European and international standardization and standardization in foreign
countries
- Keeping record of product groups and professional sectors in respect
of standardization and legislation; compilation of analyses
- Direct involvement of market participants in European and/or international
standardization via the Hungarian Technical Committees for National Standardization,
in order to make possible the promotion of interests and to provide the
forwarding of up-to-date information
- Development of specifications for professional sectors

The guarantee of trustworthiness is the Act on standardisation that ensures
that
- the rules of MSZT's operation are transparent and open for everybody;
- the conditions of its operation (organisational, financial) are approved
by the General Assembly consisting of the members;
- the Standardisation Board elected by the General Assembly helps and
monitors its professional activity;
- an independent Financial Control Committee checks its financial management;
- its legal surveillance is provided by the Hungarian Government.
The guarantee of competence
- approximately 3000 experts from the industry, universities, research
and testing institutes who work in nearly 200 standardisation committees;
- 80 well-qualified auditors working in 39 professional fields;
- certification systems accredited by Hungarian Accreditation Board (NAT)
and Swedish Board for Accreditation (SWEDAC);
- full membership in the international (ISO, IEC) and European (CEN, CENELEC,
ETSI) standardisation organisations and in IQNet, the International Certification
Network;
- continual training for experts and auditors in training courses recognised
on European and national (governmental) level and giving qualification;
- The Hungarian Standards Institution provides comprehensive services
and business solutions for its clients in the field of system certification;
- Our experts provide efficient certification services recognised on national
and international level, moreover our organisation ensures continual vocational
training for our qualified auditors (70-80 persons).
The guarantee of experience
- Professional, organising, business and international activity that it
has carried out since 1921;
- Working first as an independent (from 1921 to 1948), later as an administrative
body (from 1948 to 1995), after that as an independent organisation again
(from1995);
- Organisational, operational and financial transformation necessary to
achievement of the full membership (2003) in the European standardisation
organisations that it began in 1990;
- Practice in verification of conformity to the standard;
- Accreditation activity carried out until 1995;
- System certification activity that MSZT has carried out since 1990;
- Active participation in the international electrical standardisation
(IEC) since 1906, in other standardisation activity (ISO) since 1948,
in the European standardisation (CEN, CENELEC, ETSI) since 2003, and in
the international certification network (IQNet) since1998.
