The Institute provides services in all three major categories of metrology:
fundamental metrology , maintenance of national standards, RaD dissemination
of units - top level calibration of standards and measuring instruments
legal metrology (regulated sphere, type approvals of legal metrology instruments,
first and subsequent verification of measuring instruments, inspection).
Primary laboratories of the CMI are concentrated in four divisions, Laboratories
of Fundamental Metrology in Prague , Branch Inspectorate Prague, Branch
Inspectorate Brno and Inspectorate for Ionizing Radiation in Prague.
